Town River Stewards

Broad Street Bridge Cleanup
October 23, 2004

Jim Revil, Bill Bumpus, Jim Howell and Kent Kreutler met on this cloudy, though beautiful, fall day to clean the banks of the Town River by the Broad Street Bridge and Stiles and Hart Conservation Parkland. We collected shopping carts, bicycles, metal fencing, several bags of trash and recyclable glass, plastic and metal cans. Jim and Bill were also able to clear some obstructions from the river.

Selectman Herb Lemon of Bridgewater made arrangements for us to dispose of the items at the Bridgewater Transfer station. We greatly appreciate Herb's assistance and the cooperation of the folks at the Transfer station.

We also viewed an area of the parkland that would make an ideal canoe launch. The parkland is truly a hidden treasure in the town. The majestic beech tree and peaceful surroundings make it a fantastic wonderland.
