History
The Town River Stewards Committee (TRSC) was formed by individuals that participated in the Town River Shoreline Survey, conducted during the summer of 2003. This survey was performed as one component of the Taunton River Wild & Scenic Study. Using survey participants to act as stewards of the river was a notion championed by Kitty Doherty of the NRTB, who oversaw the study.
Committee members plan, organize and implement river maintenance and improvement actions proposed as a direct result of the shoreline survey. Additional committee members are welcome.
Meetings
The TRSC has been meeting monthly since February, 2004. Meetings usually take place at the Bridgewater Public Library. The agenda of meetings has centered on developing goals and objectives, and planning activities that fulfill our mission. Currently, we are focusing on planning and organizing river cleanups and developing canoe launch areas.
